Commonly known as “The Silent Killer” because often there are no symptoms until the cancer has progressed to an advanced stage.  Ovarian Cancer is the ninth most common cancer in women and ranks fifth as the cause of cancer deaths in women according the American Cancer Society.  With early detection, there is an almost 90% survival rate of more than 5 years, however, due to Ovarian Cancer’s non-specific symptoms and lack of early detection tests, only 19% of all cases are found early.  If diagnosed in Stage III or later, the survival rate can be as low as 30%.   The Anne B. Kingsley Ovarian Cancer Foundations has made it our mission to support promising research aimed at the early detection of Ovarian Cancer.
